What the role involves
- Carry out PUWER / LOLER Assessments
- Act as an independent witness for load testing and for other tasks
- Proactively work in line with the BV Core Values and Code of Ethics and effective implementation of the Approved Body and Engineering Services vision.
- Work in accordance and agreement with our group policy for “Impartiality and Conflicts of Interest” and BV UK Procedure for “Impartiality and Conflicts of Interest”.
- Provide technical expertise within the PUWER / LOLER Regulations.
- Keep up to date with developments in Standards and Legislation affecting UKCA / CE Marking.
- Work to the machinery procedures within the business to meet the requirements of Technical Competency Testing and Technical Audits.
- Delivery against key personal, team and divisional KPI’s.
- Participate in technical audits in line with agreed plan.
- Participate in training and development as identified to ensure competence to meet business needs.
- Compiling accurate conformity assessment reports.
- Develop suitable product inspection and test plans to ensure conformity.
- Witnessing of testing and inspection of components post testing and recording / confirming results.
- Check technical construction files against the SMSR(08)
- Manage client base.
- Develop non-conflicting consultancy services machinery.
- Development of competence for machinery under Group 17 of The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
Who we are looking for
- Knowledge of PUWER LOLER Assessments
- Knowledge of the Designated Standards such as ISO 12100.
- Knowledgeable in the requirements for Approved Bodies services.
- Auditing experience.
- Excellent communication skills, including ability to write detailed technical reports and procedures.
- Good knowledge of market, industry trends, developments and changes in legislation.
- Understanding of the safety rules and associated codes of practice that are applicable to machinery
- Understanding of drawings and manufacturing literature relevant to machinery
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally if required.
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum HNC / NVQ Level 4 equivalent in a mechanical / electrical engineering field.
- Full UK Driver’s license
