Due to year on year growth they are recruiting an experienced Safety Engineer.
Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Safety Engineer as a requirement with the Autonomous vehicle R&D team to support ongoing development.
Core Responsibilities:
- Write a safety case report based on the software & hardware company is using in the Autonomous vehicle solution for the market.
- Supporting the development and integration of the vehicle automation safety system
- Adherence to appropriate development processes necessary for ongoing project functions
- Support testing of safety implementation to ensure it is safe, reliable and operates as designed
- Identify physical hardware architecture to realise safety functionality
- Support identification and sourcing of a viable supply chain for safety systems by the Technical Director
- Support engagement with niche vehicle OEMs to understand vehicle characteristics and identify configuration/customisation of safety solutions for their needs
- Support integration/installation of safety systems into vehicle platforms
- Support integration of safety systems with other automation sub-systems
- Maintain awareness of potential new suppliers/technologies that can improve our safety offering
Requirements & Qualities:
- Require knowledge or experience with SOTIF, HARA, FMEA analysis.
- ISO 26262 or 61508 safety expertise
- Functional safety experience
- Vehicle integration
- Automotive safety experience with higher levels of automation.
- Experience with both Software & Hardware.
- Basic Knowledge of different domains of AV - Perception, Mapping & Localisation, Motion planning & control.
- Excellent English communication
- Client and supplier engagement experience.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with AI techniques (optimization, machine learning, etc.)
- Familiarity with sensor fusion and vehicle automation
- Knowledge of agile methodologies
