Job Summary: The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are performed in a safe and compliant manner, in accordance with industry regulations and company policies. The successful candidate will work closely with the project management team, and construction workers to promote and maintain a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities of Safety Coordinator:
- Implement a site-specific safety program for each construction project, in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the construction site to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to all employees, including new employee orientation, on-site safety meetings, and specialized training as required.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of all safety-related incidents, inspections, and training.
- Communicate with project management and safety team on safety issues and concerns.
- Review and approve job specific safety plans and ensure compliance with their safety policies.
- Coordinate and conduct regular emergency response drills and ensure that all workers are familiar with emergency procedures.
- Stay current with changes in safety regulations and best practices, and ensure that the company's safety program reflects these changes.
Qualifications for Safety Coordinator:
- (Preferred) Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English Preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction safety.
- Knowledge of OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel to various job locations
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements for Safety Coordinator:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions for Safety Coordinator:
- Work is performed primarily on construction sites and may involve exposure to hazards such as noise, dust, chemicals, and heavy machinery.
- May be required to work irregular hours or shifts, depending on project needs.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
