BA Euroflyer are recruiting for a Safety & Security Specialist on a Permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join our welcoming and ambitious team, with focus on all matters of safety & security.
Key accountabilities:
- Deputise for the Safety and Security Manager as required on all matters of safety & security.
- To monitor and develop safety data and trends for FDM and SMS of company aircraft.
- To drive development and maintain the analysis programme for the safety reporting system to continuously improve the effectiveness of the review by the Accountable Manager, Safety Action Group (SAG) and Safety and Compliance Review Board (SCRB).
- To lead Investigations of Serious Incidents and report findings under the appropriate company procedures to the BA Euroflyer SAG.
- To provide or assist as required with the production of the SCRB Report
- To work with the Compliance department providing risk analysis in order to identify the scope of security audits required and complete security audits.
- In line with the integrated safety, risk and compliance management system provide assistance to the Compliance department in the completion of inspections and audits.
- To liaise with the National organisations that advise or regulate the aviation business (e,g, AAIB, CAA, DfT, UKFSC, UKAB, BATA, BA and NATS)
- To maintain and develop a programme of continuous improvement for all aspects of the Flight Data Analysis (FDA) programme including areas such as parameter effectiveness and capability, whilst ensuring the system is able to provide proactive data to support Operations’ safety management.
- To ensure the company acquires and replays all flight data installed on company aircraft and notify Engineering when technical defects are detected in recording equipment.
- To ensure all structural exceedances triggered by flight data are raised with Engineering in a timely manner.
- To develop and grow links with other airlines and design appropriate safety information exchange programmes.
- To provide development, coaching and expertise on risk assessments for the nominated persons and key stakeholders.
- To coordinate and develop the FRM process within the company.
- To provide flexible support as required, to ensure the safety system integrity and effectiveness is maintained.
The essential criteria for this role are:
- Possess a relevant qualification in Safety Investigation
- Previous experience as a DfT directed person of AVSEC Level 3 standard or equivalent. (or experience deputising in an equivalent role)
- Proven experience of airline activities specifically in the field of SMS and SeMS.
- Proven experience identifying and proposing strategies around potential key issues with regards to safety and security
- Proven experience in the development, and maintenance of UK CAA (or EU previously) approved Airline Security Programmes.
- Experience in maintaining relationships with the regulatory authorities to ensure BAEF is perceived as a “best practice” pro-active organisation.
