Safety and Quality Advisor
About the Role
Safety and Quality Advisor – Interconnectors: Head Office Warwick, onsite work is in the Southeast, as well as hybrid working. This role will involve some GB and EU travel.

We are looking for a Safety and Quality Advisor to ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standards of Safety, Health and Environmental requirements. This role is part of our new Construction team who are responsible for delivering the exciting Interconnectors CAPEX portfolio construction activities, which are mainly located in the southeast.
The role represents a fantastic opportunity to not only prepare for the Protection of our Assets alongside refurbishment works, but also undertake the development and construction activities associated with our Multi-Purpose Interconnectors.
What you'll be getting up to
- Deliver projects in accordance with the SHE strategy and establish engagement to ensure continuous improvement, world class performance and the development of appropriate SHE culture.
- Provide tools, coaching, mentoring and education (training either directly or through service providers) to enable personnel to manage their SHE responsibilities.
- Ensure and demonstrate, both by direct interaction and through the audit programme, that such provision as detailed above is delivered and fully utilised.
- Develop, manage and communicate a structured skills matrix for all project personnel and direct support functions.
- Develop SHE policy and procedure and continually review SHE processes, identifying and implementing innovative improvements by interaction with project personnel.
- Develop project SHE strategy and SHE management systems to promote continuous improvement to create, achieve and sustain world class performance, and ensure full engagement and education of the project management team for accountability in delivery.
- Develop (through the project management team) and implement the appropriate SHE culture within the project team, encompassing the ‘Safety by Design’ philosophy.
- Attend regularly monthly and weekly site meetings and toolbox talks.
- Review the Construction Phase Plan.
- Carry out site visits and audits.
About You
- Previous accountability and ownership for allocated SHE issues improvement plans and initiatives
- Ability to convey SHE delivery concepts in an informative and collaborative manner
- Experience of preparing concise, accurate reports
- Desire to enhance personal development as a SHE professional with construction
- Ability to deliver training/ briefing material in an innovative, enjoyable and effective way
