indigo at The O2 is a hidden gem in The O2 (sometimes known as The O2’s little sister!) With a capacity of 2,800 it is a perfect venue for music, comedy, TV recordings and corporate events. It is the place of choice for many stars for their after-show parties, or top comedians that like a more intimate experience with their fans.
They are looking for a Security and Compliance manager to oversee and manage the security and stewarding service contracts for indigo at The O2, in collaboration with the venue managers you will ensure the event security services are adequately resourced and service performances are regularly assessed.
You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of indigo at The O2’s Readiness and Testing Programme.
You will develop exercises to ensure security operations are effective, this will include the delivery of workshops, tabletop exercises and simulated live exercises to test our security and emergency plans and procedures.
You will be responsible for the development and delivery of indigo at The O2’s security operations plan.
In collaboration with service contractors and Venue Managers, you will ensure security operations are appropriate and proportionate to the risks associated with events.
In collaboration with service contractors and Venue Managers, licencing and policing agencies, and other relevant stakeholders you will contribute to the assessment of security risks for events at indigo at The O2.
You will be the subject expert for security at live events, which will include safeguarding, crime associated with events, fraud, crowd management and other potential disruptive events.
You will advise the event organisers, venue and security service providers on emerging threats, industry guidance, regulatory compliance and general best practice.
You will actively seek to learn lessons from global security incidents at live events and take forward any actions to mitigate risk and ensure operations are resilient to threats.
You will be responsible for the development and delivery of security functions and processes, including access control and search and screening policies for indigo at The O2.
You will be the main liaison with the Venue Managers with regards to event staffing deployment, Crowd Management Plans and deployment of security equipment.
We’re looking for someone with experience of managing security services at live events. You’ll hold a relevant qualification in Security Management and Crowd Management (or equivalent vocational training/experience) and have experience of conducting security surveys, threat and risk assessments.
Flexible in your approach to work and able to work under pressure, in a fast-paced event environment, you’ll be willing to work during the evenings, including weekends and bank holidays, as required.
With a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and to establish good professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders; you’ll be organised with good administrative skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Where:
You‘ll be based at our Indigo venue which is in The O2 and a short walk from North Greenwich tube station.
Important Information:
This is an events based role. Shifts are 7 hour long (Evenings 17:00-00:00). There may be extended hours if after parties take place after the event, or if shows start earlier in the day. The role will also require risk assessments, investigations and compliance meetings to be conducted.
