You will be providing security services at the working location in line with the Assignment Instructions and customer requirements in order to protect the customer’s employees, property and other assets. The aim is to reduce criminal activity, build a better community for colleagues, residence and businesses Our support in providing SCSO’s will not only provide enhanced safety for our own staff, but a security presence and support to the wider community.
Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern - Days on 6 week rotation
12 Hour Shifts
Shift Times: 7:00am - 7:00pm
Salary: £31,817.00pa

How you will make an impact as SCSO?
- To provide a diverse protective security service in and around the immediate area of the client’s properties to improve the security community posture, the Safer Community Security Officers will be tasked with providing the best possible service to the client.
- To act as a deterrent and gathering information to deal with street nuisance and other matters that disrupts business activity and colleague experience.
- Record and report information of incidents which will assist in creating an intelligence package on problematic individuals and hotspots.
- Work closely with the Police and the Safer Neighbourhood Team and other delivery partnerships to assist in matters that disrupt business activity, achieving the best outcome in the relevant circumstances.
- The Safer Community Security Officers will have the same powers as any member of the
public regarding making an arrest. - Create and nurture relationships with security, local businesses and residents, attending local area briefings such as the Night Economy Levy and Street briefings.
- Act as a point of contact in assisting the Police with known offenders.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with partners (e.g. the Police/ Street wardens/council members around the area).
- Work closely with the Police and the Safer Neighbourhood Team and other delivery partnerships to assist in matters that disrupt business activity, achieving the best outcome in the relevant circumstances.
- Undertake patrols of the defined area, ensuring a daytime and evening presence around the area, in accordance with management instructions.
- Promote the area and communicate with members of the public, providing directions, advice
and a general welcoming presence - Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate
- Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are always followed. Record and report all faults, health and safety hazards and unsafe working practices to the Supervisor/Manager.
- Undertake any other duties as requested by the Protective Services Branch Management.
Essential Skills
- Must hold a valid SIA Licence.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Must be over 18.
- Have a five-year checkable employment history
- A full UK driving licence and own transport is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
- Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Be punctual and reliable.
- Be willing and able to work shifts covering days, nights and week-ends.
- Be sensitive towards and show an understanding of the requirements of people with disabilities or special needs.
Desired Skills
Prior experience as a Security Officer in the Security industry is desirable.- A First Aid qualification would be advantageous.
