Safeguarding Manager - Special School - West Midlands
Circa £40,000
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual with safeguarding knowledge and experience to join a highly regarded school rated 'Good' with outstanding features by OFSTED. The school is set in beautiful countryside and supports both Primary and Secondary aged students with learning difficulties, challenging behaviours, and secondary diagnoses, particularly autism. As such, the right person will have experience supporting individuals with these diagnoses in either a residential or school setting.
In this role you will be responsible for managing the safeguarding team across both care and education which is incredibly well-established and high performing. This will involve some on-call responsibilities which is shared amongst the large senior leadership team, and due to the nature of the school very rarely requires on-call involvement.
Within this role you will have to be a strong and energetic leader, able to competently manage safeguarding within both a care and education setting. The aim is to progress to an 'Outstanding' rating in terms of OFSTED and continue the culture of providing the highest standard of care.
Essential Requirements:
- Safeguarding experience - minimum Deputy Safeguarding Lead level
- Experience supporting individuals with special needs and challenging behaviours
- Ambitious with the desire to train and mentor
- Experience in either a residential or education setting - ideally both
