Job Introduction

Do you love getting stuck into data, working with statistics and spotting where the numbers don’t add up? Do you want to be part of a team that creates one of the most successful podcasts on BBC Sounds right now? Then joining us at Sliced Bread may be the job for you. Every week we answer listeners’ questions about what they are spending their money on…is it worth it or are they being sucked in by the hype surrounding the latest wonder products.

BBC Audio North produces a wide variety of programmes spanning pop, classical and worship music; consumer and religious journalism to documentaries, poetry and a wide range of speech in between.

Based at MediaCity UK in Salford, the department produces output for Radio 2, 3, 4, 6 Music and the World Service. Our programmes include Good Morning Sunday (R2), Young Chorister of the Year (R2), Sunday Worship (R4), Moral Maze (R4), You & Yours (R4), Pick of The Week, Radio 4 quizzes, documentaries, as well as The Verb and Saturday Breakfast for Radio 3 and Heart and Soul for World Service.
