About the role and the team
Depaul International (DPI) is the parent body of a global group of charities (subsidiaries) responding to global homelessness, together serving 23,500 people each year.
We have an internship opportunity for a student that is interested in entering the homelessness or international development sectors to gain an understanding and experience of improving safeguarding in an international context. The selected candidate will be appointed as Safeguarding Intern and will work on a full time (37.5 hours per week), 6 weeks fixed term contract basis.
In this role, you will collaborate with programme team to improve safeguarding policy, procedures and practice across the seven Depaul subsidiaries.
You will also be involved in the development of toolkit of resources for subsidiaries to use at a local level, and carry out research on power and privilege in programme design as well as compile a list of recommendations for DPI’s Programmes team to consider

About you:
You will have excellent communication skills and be committed to the values and ethos of Depaul UK.
- A high level of written English and good written communication skills
- A proven ability to conduct independent research (e.g. academic work)
- An ability to review and synthesise complex sources of information
- An ability to present information in a user-friendly and visually appealing way
- A knowledge of social programmes for young people and/or at-risk adults (preferably homelessness), especially in an international context (e.g. through academic studies, volunteering or work experience)
