Position Overview
Working within the UK Ruminant Business Unit, the eCommerce Manager will perform a role that is both strategic and hands on, with the key responsibility for driving the performance of our eCommerce solution. This exciting position will be instrumental in driving an eCommerce transformation to the business so that this channel grows above and beyond more traditional channels.
Reporting into the Head of Commerce, you will support the development and implementation of eCommerce plans which connect with the wider strategic focuses of the business. You will work closely with cross functional teams to build and implement co-ordinated promotional plans which give optimal customer experience whilst driving us towards our goals.
You will be a person who takes the initiative, looks at problems with an open mind and is able to develop/implement imaginative and actionable solutions based on data and insights to actively pursue improvements in our eCommerce solution.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Deliver an effective eCommerce strategy and execute initiatives which drive channel growth and champion the opportunities which eCommerce offers the business

Lead eCommerce platform operations to drive growth alongside optimising/improving customer experience
- Day to day trading process efficiency
- Developing and updating web content (including testing)
- Development and implantation of promotional campaigns
- Utilisation of SEO, PPC, SME tactics
- Issue resolution i.e. bug fixes
- Management and reporting of agreed KPIs, providing analysis of key business drivers and producing actions plans to ensure targets are met
- Performance evaluation of activities to build best practice ways of working which will drive performance efficacy over time – additionally feed this information into the development of a digital marketing playbook to align with the wider marketing team
- Utilise available resources, analysing sales patterns and customer behaviour to develop and optimise engaging customer journeys which align with target audience profiles
- Work closely with the wider marketing team to develop and implement strategically important campaigns and identify synergistic opportunities
- Collaboration with various other cross functional teams (including global, sales and operations functions) on eCommerce operations to maximise the effectiveness of our current solution whist leading the implementation of our future solutions.
- As the subject matter expert/go-to for our eCommerce operations you should also be abreast of developments in the eCommerce area, particularly with regard to our competitive offering and ensuring our approach is best practice.
Required Competencies
- Ability to multitask & prioritise resources to manage multiple campaigns and priorities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written across the business stakeholder spectrum
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to generate and build effective relationships with cross functional team members
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise resources
- A strong knowledge of software development methodologies, ticketing systems and eCommerce platforms
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- 3-5+ years’ eCommerce experience in a similar role
- Experience of the operational day to day management of eCommerce platforms with a proven track record of growing revenue and an excellent understanding of the eCommerce landscape
- Experience of the end-to-end planning, implementation & measurement of eCommerce campaigns
- Self-starter with strong work ethic, personal accountability and desire to drive our eCommerce solution
- Experience of using marketing automation platforms (especially Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and SAP a bonus
