The Global ER Investigation Lead works independently ensuring a thorough and fair investigation process in case of claims regarding harassment, bullying, sexual harassment or any claim regarding discrimination. The Global ER Investigation Lead assures legal requirements and compliance obligations are taken into account through the investigation and guides on consistency of sanctions applied in substantiated cases. You will ensure policies, processes and procedures for use in the location are legally compliant. In this role you will take the lead role on significant claims across countries or in any country where needed and advise others within Human Resources. Working closely with Compliance and Legal to ensure good awareness on how to report Sexual Harassment and Bullying & Harassment cases and how to prevent them. You will also work closely with Global Director ER to build SH&BH capabilities within the business and the HR community.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Ensure the policies on SH&BH for cross countries cases are appropriate, legally compliant and well communicated to the business, employees and contractors and that appropriate training has been provided

  • Ensure the processes and procedures for cross countries cases give clarity on how to report cases, the range of channels available and ensure privacy and confidentiality of data related to the SH&BH cases

  • Handle all misconduct issues in the SH&BH/Discrimination area (investigations, recommendations, and execution) at cross country level or in any country where needed

  • Collaborate with Legal Counsel to effectively manage ER issues and minimize risk and exposure to the business

  • Provide guidance and training to leadership on how to manage misconduct issues through early intervention and appropriate corrective action

  • Work in partnership with Global Director and Employee Relations Investigators in UK, US and Sweden to monitor metrics and identify problems and solutions in the SH&BH area

  • Take a lead role in the partnership with Legal on governmental charges, proceedings, and lawsuits involving employment practice issues within SH&BH cases

  • Provide direction and support on employee relations issues to ensure consistency in the application of AstraZeneca policies, procedures and ER best practices on SH&BH cases

  • Enter all SH&BH data into the Database system chosen in conjunction with Global Compliance for reporting the SH&BH cases

  • Lead special projects and teams in case of specific projects

  • Supports senior management in the area of development of positive employee relations in the area of SH&BH

Essential Requirements

  • Law degree or previous experience in Legal or Compliance departments

  • Experience dealing with complex and sensitive claims and ER cases

  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization

Desirable

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferable

  • Specific experience on Bullying & Harassment and Sexual Harassment cases is highly preferable
