Job description
Fulfil prescribed cleaning routines within departments, wards and general areas of the hospital.
- Clean all sanitary-ware, floors and mirrors within patient, staff and public toilets, showers and bathrooms.
- Vacuum-clean and mop floors, stairs and skirting boards.
- Undertake scrubbing, polishing and buffing of floors using appropriate equipment.
- Damp-dust surfaces including doors, door frames, stair rails and window ledges.
- Store and prepare cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
- Empty waste bins and remove sacks of waste to collection points.
- Replenish soap, toilet roll and hand towel dispensers.
- Changing of bed, screen and shower curtains.
- Remove spillages of non-bodily fluids.
- Undertake specialist cleaning such as carpet shampooing and steam cleaning using the appropriate equipment.
- Complete detailed cleaning of ward areas in readiness of new patient admissions.
- Order and receive cleaning products and store them safely in house cleaner’s cupboards (HMCs).
- Demonstrate duties to new or less experienced Cleaners as delegated by the Healthcare Cleaning Manager or their nominated deputy.
We are hiring for various shift patterns such as:
Evening Work - 4pm - 8pm - 20 hours
Full time - 37.5 hours - 5 days over 7
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: £10.42 per hour
