Job description
The post holder will hold a relevant clinical qualification to degree level or equivalent in Physiotherapy and participate in the Band 5 physiotherapy rotational scheme across the Trust.
They will provide a competent standard of physiotherapy assessment and diagnoses, based on clinical findings, and develop and implement an individualised treatment programme to maximise patient potential.
They are required to assist in the education, training support and day to day management of support workers and rehabilitation assistants under the guidance of a more senior member of staff.
1. To participate in the Band 5 physiotherapy rotational scheme.
2. To provide a competent standard of physiotherapy assessment and diagnosis, based on clinical findings, develop and implement an individualised treatment programme to maximise patient potential.
3. To be responsible for organising and prioritising own caseload in the day to day allocation of work.
4. To deputise when required in your seniors absence and delegate appropriately to support workers and rehabilitation assistants with guidance as appropriate.
5. To have organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them, particularly administration of medicine and moving and handling.
6. To be responsible for providing accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes.
7. To ensure effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting, assessing and controlling risk and ensuring residual risks are added to the Trust register.
COVID-19 Vaccination

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement – London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,108 and a maximum payment of £5,177 per annum pro rata).

5. To participate in the audit process, linking in with the clinical governance agenda.
6. To maintain good professional standards of behaviour and appearance.
7. To advise, encourage and share knowledge utilising the latest research and practice development, through literature, peer reviews and in-service training programme.
8. To be responsible for maintaining own competency to practice through continuing professional development activities, maintain a portfolio which reflects personal development.
9. Assist senior staff with day to day activities of the respective unit and/or multi-disciplinary teams.
