Job Description: Roofers, roof tilers and responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs. To work on a variety of structures, including homes, businesses, and schools. The duties include:
Responsibilities:
- Installing roofing felt and underlayment
- Laying tiles, slates, or shingles
- Flashing and caulking joints
- Repairing damaged roofs
- Maintaining roofs
Roofers, roof tilers, and slaters must be able to work heights, lift heavy objects, and use a variety of tools and equipment. They must also be able to follow safety procedures and work in all weather conditions.
The following are some of the specific tasks that roofers, roof tilers, and slaters may be responsible for:
- Measuring and calculating the amount of roofing material needed
- Cutting roofing materials to size
- Installing roofing felt and underlayment
- Laying tiles, slates, or shingles
- Flashing and caulking joints
- Repairing damaged roofs
- Maintaining roofs
- Cleaning gutters and downspouts
- Installing skylights and solar panels
- Working with other construction tradespeople
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a tile setter or similar role
- Proficient in using tile cutting tools and other relevant equipment
- Strong knowledge of different tile materials and installation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or design plans
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in work
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, kneel, and lift heavy materials for extended periods of time
- Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients

Salary: £8.29-£16.00 per hour
