Join Police Digital Service as a Risk and Compliance Officer.
The Risk and Compliance Officer will play a key role in supporting the Compliance and Risk Manager in the ongoing development of proportionate corporate and operational risk management, ensuring that effective controls are in place and actions are completed in a timely manner. The post holder will work with the business to drive improvement through effective communication and independent challenge.

Key Responsibilities
- Support teams in the creation and management of operational risk registers. Including appropriate controls, mitigations and risk treatment plans, ensuring they are up to date, relevant, meaningful to the business and aligned to internal frameworks and standards meaningful to the business.

Support the Risk and Compliance Manager in obtaining updates and changes to the Corporate risk register.
Responsible for the monitoring and update of internal audit actions and ensure evidence is available to the organisations third party Internal Auditors. - Support with the creation of appropriate and timely risk and compliance reports to Senior Leadership, Audit and Risk Committee and the PDS Board.
- Undertake the process of ensuring early identification of upcoming regulatory change (Horizon Scanning) and work with the Risk and Compliance Manager to communicate this to the business in a clear and consistent manner.
- Support in the development and completion of a programme of risk based themed reviews of Policy, Process and Guidance to provide assurance of control effectiveness and/or identify gaps.
- Provide support to colleagues to build risk awareness within the organisation.
What you need to succeed in the role
- Demonstrable understanding of the principles of risk management including an ability to understand and manage risk and any associated processes, treatments and mitigations.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong engagement focus and proactive style, that motivates, builds trust and inspires colleagues to engage
- Ability to work on own initiative and develop proactive solutions to business problems and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
