Human Resources lead the implementation of the Group’s people strategy in line with business objectives. The Reward Consultant role will sit within the Reward Strategy Product Owner (Reward PO) team, which are responsible for the detailed design and Group wide implementation of HSBC’s refreshed Reward Strategy over 2022-24. This is a key part of a flagship HR change programme at HSBC, focussed on pay and performance, to deliver an excellent colleague experience and create a dynamic culture where the best want to work.
The Reward consultant role will support the Reward PO to drive thought leadership and innovation in reward design on a global scale, working with HSBC’s Global Performance and Reward Leadership Team. The team will support the delivery of changes to the reward architecture at HSBC including variable pay, working in partnership with relevant stakeholders within and outside of HR. The change programme will rely on timely review and recalibration with a focus on working in an agile way to achieve the desired outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the preparation and creation of materials to update the program sponsors including the Group Head of Performance and Reward, the HR Executive Committee and the Group Executive Committee
- Lead the implementation of the reward strategy in the specific region/business
- Review the impact of changes, any specific local considerations, assess requirements for localisation by region/ business line, support regional P&R teams for stakeholder briefings
- Work closely with the Performance Management PO, P&R delivery lead and others to ensure timely communication and seamless implementation and transition to BAU, managing key relationships with stakeholders
- Bring thought leadership to the programme to ensure access to and awareness of market and trend insights to support the programme (ensuring designs are future proof and effective).
- Key liaison with People Analytics and Data Insights - applying data, metrics and test results from customer reactions, tailoring content with a particular focus on maximising insights from existing data points
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Being an advocate for change with proven track record of working on successful implementations of change initiatives and programmes within Performance and Reward is essential for success in this role
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to engage a diverse stakeholder group
- Knowledge of financial services experience highly valuable; but not essential
- Extensive experience of performance and reward practices in global organisations is essential
- Regional experience desirable to ensure suitability of the end product for all colleagues, irrespective of their location
- A highly collaborative style, strong teamwork and a can–do attitude
- PScrum/Agile experience desirable
The base location for this role is London with hybrid working arrangements in place. It is possible for this role to be based at alternative overseas locations, subject to approval.
