REVENUES ASSISTANT – GRADE F PERMANENT POSTS

Customer Experience and Digital includes the Council’s Revenues service and opportunities are now available to join this dynamic team. This a key role in the service in terms of both maximising revenue to the council to support our services and spending plans as well as the delivery of excellent customer service.
As well as being demanding at times, this is a highly rewarding role as we provide help and guidance to our customers who may be finding it difficult to pay their council tax. While we continue to implement and offer more online and digital solutions, many customers are more comfortable contacting the team by telephone therefore excellent customer service skills are essential.
Having the understanding and empathy to help and support vulnerable customers will be a key skill.
There will be opportunities for you to develop your skills and obtain further qualifications while in this role including the opportunity and support to study for the IRRV qualification.
The revenues team operates hybrid working arrangements and you will have the opportunity to work from home once you have been fully trained. Initial training will be provided in person at the civic centre after which you will have the opportunity to work from home. It is essential therefore that you are organised and motivated and able to manage your own workload particularly while working from home.
What we need from you –
It is essential that you are ICT literate, are competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications, have experience of working in a customer focused service delivery and have effective communication, negotiation and influencing skills. You must also have at least 5 GCSE passes at grade 4 or grade C or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
