ROLE DIMENSIONS
As part of the GB Strategy and Transformation function, the GB Revenue Growth Management team is responsible for defining & designing the Category and Commercial Strategies across all categories and channels. They build the physical availability roadmap to achieve the GB performance ambition, anchored in category trends (near- and long-term), and occasion-based demand space development. In summary, working in lockstep with Brand Marketing, the Revenue Growth Management team build the commercial plan through the lens of sub-channels – the plan that drives what, where and how we execute.
The team are decision makers on the sub-channel success models on pack, price, place and promo and are responsible for building medium- and long-term plans to achieve market share ambitions, drive net revenue maximisation and profitable growth.
Additionally, this team are change agents to accelerate the delivery of GB strategy establishing data and technology as a competitive advantage, simplifying the organisation through radical liberation. This role operates as an integral part of this change agency and on setting the direction for the future.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a significant thought leadership role. Core work includes:
  • Curating a picture of success for store (physical and digital) and outlet by shopper mission and occasion, enabling target setting for availability, visibility, value (price & promotion) and persuasion for Diageo to win in the moments of choice in the future
  • Feeding into ongoing assessment of current and future value and volume pools, leveraging category and consumer insight acumen sub-categories, sub-channels (physical and digital) and price tiers
  • Understanding barriers to realising future growth and leading projects to gear Diageo to partner for success with customers
  • Partnering internally and externally with agencies and Diageo’s own world-class Technology Experience Centre to bring to life the future of Total Beverage Alcohol consumption for GB
PURPOSE OF ROLE
To build, deploy and refine compelling visions of the future through the lens of revenue growth, category strategy and occasion-led demand space development using advanced analytics and consumer and category insights to develop tailored price, promo and assortment strategies and identifying future profit pools based on the changing shape of the market.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Picture of Success by store type and outlet type, continuously refined
  • Thought leadership – leading the business to realise the shifts required to realise future occasion-led demand spaces – WHERE WE WILL WIN
  • Influencing category strategy through interpretation of consumption trends and customer ambition – HOW WE WIN
  • White space opportunity assessment in the 3yr+ horizon
  • Strong partnership with collaborators developing the GB 5 year strategy plan (commercial and category)
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of FMCG commercial, category (operational and strategic) and shopper marketing experience. RGM and insights skills also highly prized
  • Experience in creating and deploying category visions
  • Track record of leading transformational business results
  • Able to excel when dealing with ambiguity, complexity and working within a fast-paced and entrepreneurial matrix environment
  • Confident thought-leadership – able to unify disparate teams behind a common cause
  • Ability to build and maintain genuine relationships based on mutual trust & respect, internally and externally
  • Highly capable of bringing the outside in – partnering with agencies and taking a deep interest in market developments, taking inspiration from other categories or markets
  • Successful management of senior stakeholders at all levels, resulting in strong and positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated brilliant execution to impeccably high standards
  • Comfortable deploying program initiatives externally with customers, and happy to showcase Diageo at relevant industry forums
  • Deep personal accountability for great performance
  • Strong end to end commercial FMCG understanding, alongside high levels of numerical competence and attention to detail
  • Experience working across multiple categories/channels within FMCG
