Job Purpose
Working within our Revenues Processing and Collections & Recovery sections the post holder will supervise a team to ensure delivery of an efficient and effective administration and support service in all matters relating to Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates, Housing Benefit, Sundry Debts and Scottish Welfare Fund. They will ensure the processing of charges, reliefs and exemptions, benefit claims, income collection and recovery and delivery of Crisis Grants and Community Care Grants is in accordance with all statutory legislation and regulations in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives; specifically in relation to those identified within the Finance and ICT Service Plan, the Council’s Digital Strategy and the Community Plan.
This post will be specifically working within the Scottish Welfare Fund and experience in this area is essential.
Requirements
The duties of this post requires access to the public sector network and therefore the successful applicant must complete a basic Disclosure Scotland application. A formal offer of employment with East Ayrshire Council will only be made once satisfactory clearance has been received. Any information that is disclosed on a basic disclosure will require to be discussed before a formal offer of employment is made.

This is a permanent full time post working within the Scottish Welfare Team. The admin base for this post is The Opera House, 8 John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock.
Normal office hours are 9am - 5pm Monday - Thursday & pam - 4pm Friday.
Annual Salary £26,900 - £29,156
The workstyle for this post is ‘Flexible’ - 50-79% of time is office based. Able to work at different/ multiple work locations. Occasionally works at home, or another location 1-2 days per week, or directly home to external appointments.
