Job description

The North Nottinghamshire Diabetic Eye Screening Programme are looking to recruit a qualified Retinal Screener/Photographer on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.

The successful candidate will mainly carry out retinal imaging at the Ashfield Health & Wellbeing Centre in Kirkby In Ashfield but may occasionally be asked to screen at other locations.

The candidate will be required to have successfully completed the Diploma in Health Screening - Diabetic Eye to enable them to undertake the interpretation of retinal images in line with national and local protocols.

To provide a comprehensive Diabetic Eye Screening Service, including retinal imaging.

To carry out visual acuity testing and administer prescribed eye drops to patients in accordance with trust policy and national guidelines.

To image diabetic patients in the community and hospital, using a non-mydriatic camera in accordance with strict NSC guidelines.

To ensure the retinal images are securely saved.

Provide an efficient, safe and confidential service to all patients.
