Job Title: Retail Van Driver
Job Location: Crickhowell - Powys
Salary: £20,400 per annum
Hours: 35 per week

Are you ready to drive change and make a positive impact as a Retail Van Driver, managing stock logistics and promoting the Red Cross?
A Retail Van Driver will support the retail team in achieving business objectives by managing deliveries, collections, and stock transfers for Red Cross shops. Working closely with Shop Managers, the retail van driver acts as the main point of contact for stock-related matters and plays a vital role in promoting the Red Cross as the charity of choice for stock donations in the local community.

A day in the life of a Retail Van Driver will involve:
  • Being in charge of managing deliveries, collections, and stock transfers, including handling house clearances and picking up donations from corporate partners.
  • Collecting stock from various warehouses across the country and making sure it gets distributed where it's needed in our area.
  • You being involved in distributing and collecting materials for the Big Recycling Sack program in specific locations.
  • Actively promoting stock donations and working with external partners and corporate retail to generate more stock.
  • Keeping the vehicle safe and sound. You'll need to park it securely in a designated location at all times and make sure it's clean and well-maintained, including regular servicing and safety checks.
  • Assisting with shop openings, off-site events, refurbishments, and closures. Additionally, you'll handle the removal and proper disposal of any unwanted items in a cost-effective manner.
  • Managing health and safety issues, following procedures, and complying with national instructions, policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Completing and submitting all necessary administrative paperwork accurately and on time. You'll also play a role in recruiting, managing, training, and developing volunteers, while ensuring compliance with HR procedures
To be a successful Retail Van Driver, you’ll need:
  • A valid driver's license and knowledge of current laws and best practices for driving, vehicles, and road traffic operations.
  • To be able to work well with volunteers and understand their specific needs and dynamics.
  • A proven ability to provide excellent customer care and ensure a positive experience for all.
  • Previous experience in van driving, deliveries, basic vehicle maintenance, and handling administrative paperwork.
  • Retail experience and a successful track record of working effectively as part of a team, would be desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, embraces and leads change, takes ownership of resources, finds creative solutions, and prioritizes personal and professional growth
