Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for an Outdoor Plant Retail Assistant to join our independent, family run garden centre in Barton upon Humber. We are currently seeking a candidate to join our team at Humberbridge Garden Centre. As an outdoor plant retail assistant, you will be working as part of a team as well as independently, using your own initiative. You will play a vital role in delivering a high standard of visual merchandising, exceptional customer service and maximising sales.
Applicants must be vibrant and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
Experience of working in retail with horticultural / gardening knowledge is required.
As an outdoor plant retail assistant you will report directly to your manager, responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the overall day to day running of the outdoor retail area.
- Ensuring the retail area is well maintained and complete basic housekeeping duties.
- Processing new deliveries of stock.
- Stock replenishment to maximise the opportunity for sales.
- Interacting with customers both face to face and over the telephone sharing your knowledge and expertise with confidence.
- Care of plants to a high standard including watering, planting and maintenance.
- Assisting customers with plants and other products.
You will be expected to have a flexible approach to working, with weekend and bank holiday work included.
This role will be a permanent position working 3-4 days per week including working on a weekend.
