The successful Retail Sales Associate

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication and customer service skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment. You should also be detail-oriented, able to multitask, and have basic math skills for handling cash transactions.

Main Responsibilities of a Retail Sales Associate

Greeting customers and providing assistance:

  • Welcoming customers as they enter the store.
  • Assisting customers in finding products and answering their questions.
  • Providing recommendations based on the customer's needs.

Operating cash registers and processing payments:

  • Ringing up customer purchases and processing payments.
  • Handling cash and credit card transactions.
  • Balancing cash drawers at the end of each shift.

Restocking merchandise and maintaining store appearance:

  • Restocking shelves and ensuring that merchandise is displayed neatly.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised store environment.
  • Conducting regular inventory checks and reporting any discrepancies to management.

Helping to manage the store's inventory:

  • Monitoring inventory levels and notifying management of low stock.
  • Helping to receive and unload shipments of new merchandise.
  • Assisting with pricing and tagging of merchandise.

Providing exceptional customer service:

  • Ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience.
  • Handling customer complaints and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanour at all times.

Please note:

This is a full time, on-site position that is specifically based in Sheffield, so please ensure you are able to commit to full time hours and manage the daily commute.
