Sales Assistant - 4/7 days.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about retail, to come and work in a family run business with over 100 years under its belt.
We have 9 retail stores located throughout East Anglia, Essex and Kent and we are now looking for a Sales Assistant to join our team in our Ipswich store.
Reporting into the Branch Management Team, your daily duties will include;
- Supporting the Branch Management Team in the delivery of the branch’s sales and profit KPI’s by actively performing selling activities.
- Accurately processing orders.
- Performing duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner.
- Ensuring all established procedures are adhered to.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, suppliers, customers and the general public.
- Maintaining regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant Health and Safety procedures.
- Serving our customers both on the shopfloor and on the tills, offering advice and expert knowledge on the products we stock.
- Communicating and liaising verbally with customers/ suppliers/ visitors/ enquirers/ co-workers and managers.
- Efficiently and effectively responding to customer enquiries face to face, on the phone or via email.
- Carry out
- Ensuring the store is kept clean and tidy as per company standards and facing up and recovering the store at the end of each trading day.
- Stock replenishment, including stock taking, ordering of stock and merchandising stock.
You will need to have knowledge of pet and animal care and be comfortable in advising customers in this.
This is a fast paced role, dealing with both retail and trade customers so you will need to be able to hit the ground running and not be afraid to get stuck in.

About You:
- You’ll be passionate about working in retail and helping customers.
- You’ll have an interest in pets and animals.
- You will need to be physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg bags and boxes.
- Previous retail experience is desirable
- Previous experience of keyholding is also desirable
- You’ll be able to work as part of a team and possess excellent communication skills.
- You’ll be able to use your initiative and be proactive in your approach.
