Reporting to : Retail Marketing Team Lead
The Job Purpose:
The Retail Marketing Manager for the Digital Shelf is responsible for setting the strategy for how we excel on the Digital Shelf. They will drive improvements in our digital shelf performance across different retailer websites, embed the digital transformation of the CDO, build an omnichannel mindset and upskill our personnel in the fundamentals to enable excellence in eCommerce execution. They will champion omni in everything that we do, and lead the CDO through our journey to optimise the Digital Shelf, including both commercial and eRCD.
The role will use a range of tools to understand the role & effectiveness of Price, Promotion, Traffic, Conversion, Distribution, Visibility, Content, Ratings & Reviews, and Availability on our overall eCommerce business and where the opportunities to accelerate growth lie.
This role is fundamental in helping Colgate “Unlock the Full Omnichannel Growth Opportunity”. They will support the Retail Marketing Team and Customer Development Team to ensure Colgate delivers flawless execution of our commercial plans by:
Strengthening Category / Brand / Customer performance online through the continuous assessment of all of our digital shelf investments and support the development of new plans
Sharing eCommerce expertise within the commercial team and seeking opportunities to develop and coach others across the Customer Development organisation
Leading key Customer Teams through Joint Value Creation projects in the eCommerce arena
Enhancing the quality and speed of insight generation by standardising and connecting multiple data sources to enable better decision making and action planning
The Main Responsibilities:
Coach the CDO to Implement content with eCommerce partners to deliver a superior consumer experience and help drive search visibility and conversion of Colgate’s products online
Use Colgate’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) tools to help manage and maintain digital assets
Become a Subject Matter Expert on internal and external analytics tools (e.g. Profitero, Bradquad, Similarweb, Stackline, and other retailer-specific tools); be the voice of the online shopper to continuously improve our brand presence
Monitor our brands on eCommerce platforms to ensure plans are executed in line with agreements and at Colgate’s standard
Utilise eAudit tools (e.g. BrandQuad) to evaluate Colgate’s 6P + A performance across different retailer websites and create immediate action plans to optimise performance
Evaluate the effectiveness and return on investment of eCommerce activities
Evaluate the impact of new content loaded to the different eCommerce partners and provide recommendations for future improvements
Conduct periodic online audits to ensure Colgate products are available/accessible for shoppers to purchase across partner websites
Provide analysis from retailer sales data which provide recommendations to improve the effectiveness of Colgate’s eCommerce plans
Use web traffic and search behavior tools (e.g. SimilarWeb) to identify changes in the eCommerce .landscape and opportunities for Colate to improve its overall strategy for eCommerce
Monitor key competitor activity using publicly available information
Support the Retail Marketing Team Leader and CDO in evaluating and prospecting potential new eCommerce customers based on capability and innovation
Support the development and implementation of the eCommerce Vision
Conduct quarterly reviews with key stakeholders on how we are tracking against defined eCommerce objectives.
Your Profile:
Educated to degree level
Commercial acumen and how analytics impact business decisions
Entrepreneurial and curious
Digitally savvy, some web design knowledge is a plus
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and proven project management skills
Advance analytical, numerate and logical reasoning skills, the ability to compile and present data with high attention to detail
Ability to face the customer, attend meetings, build relationships and create part
Ideally Marketing experience, however not essential
A confident individual who is able to lead, coach and work effectively in a cross functional team

Connecting multiple data sets together in such a way that enriches on-going insight generation

Making solutions and tools ‘user friendly’ to motivate teams to use them on a frequent basis
Raising the profile of ecommerce analytics and inspiring an analytical ‘mind-set’ across every function and every business process, every day
