Reporting: Role reports to Café Supervisor and liaises closely with Duty Managers
Job Description
Objective of role
- Help to maintain cafe standards
- Produce and serve well prepared food
- Help to maximise sales through upselling
- Provide first class customer service
- Carry out stock management to help minimise risk and costs
- Assist customers of The Canoe Man (TCM) hire
- Grow personally and professionally as part of the lido business.
Responsibilities
- Greet, assist, and serve to customers their orders or hires
- Operate till/Epos and handle financial transactions
- Merchandise and replenish stock as directed
- Assist with food cooking and preparation
- Undertake cleaning and housekeeping duties, alongside other site cleaning tasks
- Be familiar with cafe manual and hygiene within the kitchen
- Complete the necessary forms within the diary or via staff messaging
- Continually develop an understanding of the company’s culture, products and ethics reflect this in everyday performance
- Take responsibility for personal development and actively seek opportunities for improvement
- Be aware of allergy advice and procedures
- Know rules and conditions of TCM hire
- Provide suitable equipment, advice, and training to TCM hirers
- Other duties as deemed necessary or as required.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Training:
- Maths & English GCSE A-C (or working towards) Essential
- Food Safety and Hygiene (Catering) Level 2 Desirable
- Allergy Awareness training Desirable
Experience:
- Experience in a retail environment Desirable
- Previous face-to-face customer service experience Desirable
- Use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office based systems Essential
- Previous experience in use of EPOS system and/or tills Desirable
- Previous experience in a kitchen or café environment Desirable
Skills:
- Ability to initiate contact and communication Essential
- Confident, articulate, and accurate spoken English Essential
