Black Country Living Museum has an opportunity for Retail/Hospitality Team Members to join our Enterprise team, working in our food & drink and retail (gift shop) units across our historic site.

Throughout our 44-year history, Black Country Living Museum’s aim has always been clear: Inspiring your discovery of the Black Country. We ensure that the revolutionary story of the Black Country’s industrial landscape – the first ever of its kind in the UK – is celebrated by generations.
With our bostin’ seasonal, themed and high profile events, as well as being regularly used for TV and Film locations, BCLM is one of Europe’s most successful open-air museums.
We are currently embarking upon our largest development ever, with a multi-million pound investment bringing our story into the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.
Based in the heart of the Black Country’s regeneration zone, we are within good commutable distance from many of the surrounding counties.
About the roles
As a Hospitality Team Member, your key responsibilities will include:
Providing exceptional waiting and/or counter service to all customers- Ensuring all legal and licensing obligations are adhered to when serving customers
- Contributing to the production of menu items
- Assisting with kitchen preparation and cleaning duties where appropriate
- Correctly merchandise and replenish displays and stock within set guidelines
- Maintaining a professional, proactive and friendly approach
- Work across Food & Drink and Retail units
As a Retail Team Member (gift shop), your key responsibilities will include:

About you
We are looking for someone with:
Previous experience in the food and drink, hospitality or retail industry- Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- An ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability
The hours for these roles are on a casual basis, with the bulk of the commitment required during school and public holidays. The Museum is also open at both weekends and some evenings, so your willingness to work at these times is crucial.
