restaurant manager Brighton, England

Space and Thyme
Full Time Brighton, England 28000 - 12.04 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Who we are -

Post House is a quirky, historic building in Brighton’s bustling Lanes district that has been transformed into a vibrant independent café, bar and restaurant for all day use.
We want to create a positive and vibrant space that brings people together without formality or pretense, to break bread, catch up over a decent drink, and spend time together. Offering brunch, lunch and dinner, coffee and cocktails, sharing plates and Sunday roasts – the Post House has all things considered...

Pay & perks -

  • £28,000 per annum
  • Service charge (currently £2,500 - £3,000 per annum)
  • Full time role
  • Staff discount on food and drink for you, your family and friends
  • Unlimited barista coffee & soft drinks
  • Meals provided on shift
  • Extensive and continued training & certification
  • Opportunities to progress within an exciting, expanding company

What’s in it for you -

  • We have an incredibly supportive team already in place – with experienced and hands-on GMs, Ops managers, as well as an HR and accounts department – allowing you to crack on with the vital role of heading up the team, rallying the staff, setting the perfect atmosphere, building great relationships and great experiences for our customers, and growing our reputation as a destination venue - week on week!
  • This is a sociable and fun role with a close-knit team. Being an independent company, there’s loads of room for creativity, ideas and feeling heard.
  • We are truly passionate about the progression of our managers, and put a lot of work into training and development. We can proudly count how many of our team have gone on to run or own their own venues or take on high level management jobs within hospitality.

What we’re looking for -

  • Experience of managing a team in a hospitality environment and an understanding of restaurant service and bookings management
  • A drive to build on our sustained growth in all aspects of the business offering, including events
  • A passion for good food and good booze
  • An interesting, interested approach – you’ll want to learn and develop your own skills, as well as those in your team
  • A knowledge of what makes for great atmosphere and a great customer experience – and the hard working attitude to make this happen, day after day
  • Experience of working with coffee and cocktails would be highly desirable
  • You'll be a positive, upbeat role model to your team
