Job description
An exciting opportunity for a Respiratory Cancer Admin Clerk has arisen to work with and support the lung cancer team and respiratory department by way of a job share role assisting the patients referred into the lung department for treatment of their condition adhering to the current nartional cancer targets.
This role is based on the aintree site working with the lung cancer nurses, cancer MDT co-ordinator for Lung and the Early Diagnosis Navigator. You will be expected to work within the national cancer booking targets and ensuring that 2 week wait referrals are dealt with in 24 hours and also keeping track any abnormal results that come into the department for possible lung abnormalities on the identified worklist.
The post holder will need to pull any 2ww referrals off the ERS referral system daily and ensure that these referrals are given to the clinician in a timely manner for vetting and make these appointments. The post holder will also have access to somerset cancer register and update this platform with information along with adding waiting list and referrals to IPM and making appointments for patients when required.
Communication is essential in this role with various departments to ensure the timely booking of investigations to asssist in the patient pathway. This role includes communicating appointments to patients via telephone.
