Are you a creative designer with an eye for detail, looking for an exciting new role?
We are searching for a designer with skills in both graphic and content design to lead the delivery of our creative projects, promoting careers and vacancies at the Scottish Government.
This is a new post is based in the Attraction Team within HR Resourcing, in the People Directorate of Scottish Government.
The Resourcing Attraction Team promotes vacancies and careers across the public sector and supports high-profile and volume recruitment campaigns. We use a number of different channels to attract candidates and promote our employer brand through social media, our careers website and candidate events.
We are looking for a designer who can deliver creative and engaging multi-platform content from concept to delivery, helping us to reach new audiences and attract the best talent to come and work for the public sector.
It is an exciting time to join our team as we grow our Attraction Service, using the latest digital tools and innovations to establish our employer brand as a leader in the marketplace. The successful candidate for this position will play an essential role in enhancing our creative output, defining new and creative ways to engage with our audiences and deliver on our organisational mission to work together to improve the lives of the people of Scotland.
Job description
Responsibilities
Create engaging and effective graphic content for use across multiple formats including print materials, social media, and digital channels.
Deliver all aspects of the creative production lifecycle, from brief setting and concept creation to artwork production, testing and distribution.
Work alongside resourcing colleagues to deliver effective campaign support including the production of website and social media graphics, infographics, motion graphics, publication and advertising design.
Implement Scottish Government brand standards, design principles and best practice standards in all outputs, ensuring high-quality and accessible content.
Monitor, collect and use performance data, user research and analysis to optimise the performance of design output.
Archive design assets to maximise the potential for future re-use.
Lead on creative projects including researching new and emerging creative approaches and tools, managing photo-shoots and procuring creative services.
Person specification
Essential Criteria
1.Proven experience in graphic design and content production with a strong track record of developing and delivering designs based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes.
2. Expert understanding of Industry standard tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and After Effects).
3. Experience of designing for digital formats including social media and the web with a detailed understanding of accessibility criteria and best practice standards.
4. Professional expertise and judgement to advise on the appropriate use of graphic outputs and formats, along with the ability to prioritise under pressure.
