Residential Support Worker

Salary: £11 per hour with 2 Sleep-in Shifts per week (£28,080.00 per year)

Requirements of a Residential Support Worker

  • A caring attitude
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • The ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
  • Good writing skills to fill in documentation
  • Experience of working with young people aged 8 – 17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Minimum Level 3 in Children & Young Person qualification (Or willing to work towards achieving this within a specific timeframe)
  • Committed to a structured approach to training and personal development
  • Understanding of the Children’s Home Regulations and Health & Safety legislation
  • Strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills
  • Character demonstrating honesty, decency and integrity
  • Conducting themselves and working consistently in a professional and confident manner
  • Have a caring disposition with a warm empathetic personality
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm along with influencing and motivational skills
  • The ability to cope with and remain calm in very challenging and demanding situations
  • Resilient, reliable and punctual

  • Residential Childcare: 2 years (required)
  • Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (required)
