As a Children’s Service, with an Independent School and a Children’s Home, our work is person-centred, led and informed.
We are currently looking to recruit a number of full-time Day and Waking Night Support Workers for our two sites in South Norwood. Your role will be to support the children and young people in their day-to-day living and welfare. This is a challenging but also hugely rewarding role. The ideal candidate MUST have at least 1-year relevant experience with supporting children and young people and completed (or at least be in the process of completing) Level 3 Residential Child Care or equivalent qualification.
Responsibilities:
- Focus on obtaining the best outcomes for each child and young person placed within the home
- Assist in the smooth running of the home, promoting a safe and caring environment
- Work within the relevant legislation and effectively implement this within the home
- Work to ensure that the young person’s care plan is met
- Be a role model - help and guide the children and young people placed
- Professional conduct of the highest standards
- Report writing, logging notes and key working records
- Prepare individual risk assessments and plan key working sessions
Requirements:
- Have a proven track record of working with children and young people, preferably within a children’s residential setting
- Be willing to develop your skills further within the residential care arena
- Undertake mandatory and statutory training (including online training)
- Have excellent communication, organisation and report-writing skills
- Level 3 Residential Child Care or equivalent qualification should be completed or in progress.
- Availability/Flexibility for early and late shifts as well as night cover
- Compliance – DBS and safeguarding checks will be carried out

Salary: £10.50-£14.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:
- London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
