We currently have multiple Fixed Term and Permanent Residential Child Care Worker posts to cover in both our well established Short Breaks services for Disabled children as well as posts within our Children’s Home for Disabled Children.
Based within Lawrence Weston – Maternity Cover for up to one year, Full Time.
Based within Hengrove – Full Time, Permanent and Part Time 24 hours per week, Maternity Cover for up to one year.
The posts require an enthusiastic, motivated and creative person who wishes to support the development and care of Disabled Children in a safe and fun environment.
The role of the Residential Child Care Worker is to work alongside the Registered Manager, Deputy Managers (registered nurses) and other RCCW's to provide a fun time for disabled children away from their families, having new experiences, learning independent living skills and building friendship groups.
It also offers families the opportunity to have a break from their caring duties, to spend time with their other children and recharge their batteries.
The service is offered to children between the ages of 5 and 18 with severe learning disabilities and/or complex physical health needs. The home is fully equipped to offer a variety of activities for the children to choose, including sensory play, in and outdoor activities, cooking and water play.
We have a stable staff team who have worked in the home for many years and so able to offer a supportive environment to new staff members.
