The department aims to enable all students to achieve their potential while studying, by providing an approachable and reliable service that students can trust.
Services provided include accommodation advice covering disabilities and dyslexia; employment and careers; financial advice; international students; mental health and wellbeing. ID card support, Student status and Council Tax exemption letters are also provided.
The Accommodation Service is looking for an enthusiastic customer focussed individual to work within the Dante Halls of Residence supporting the day-to-day operations and functions.
This is a varied and challenging role focussing on the key priorities and critical needs of the student to ensure the student experience is not compromised.
The role is multi-faceted encompassing a variety of administrative as well physically walking around the halls of residence checking rooms, maintenance work, student wellbeing and other tasks.
About You:
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with tact, discretion, and the ability to deal professionally and empathetically with our diverse students, LSBU colleagues’ external partners and agencies.
You will have a good educational background, with previous administrative experience in a similar environment, and a passion for providing an excellent front facing support service.
You will be skilled with the Microsoft office suite and have some understanding of accommodation software and enquiry management. Experience of planning and prioritising operational activities with attention to detail is essential.
