Purpose/Objective of Role

The successful candidate will look at the day-to-day ownership and responsibility for scheduling material deliveries on a ‘Just in Time Basis’ (J.I.T). Ensuring materials are in place to satisfy production requirements whilst optimising stock levels and cost. Daily administrative tasks would also need to be completed.

Job Description

As a Material Scheduler and Administrator you will be expected to undertake the following:

  • Extract information from Company Drawings and Specifications and transpose them into Purchase Orders (PO’s).
  • Schedule materials to meet the needs of the Production Plan.
  • Monitor progress (and adjust as necessary) against the schedule via frequent contact with Production.
  • Responsible for processing supplier PO’s and returns.
  • Communicate/liaise with other departments and suppliers to ensure demands of Production are met.
  • Liaise with Stores or relevant individuals to manage materials.
  • Act as the initial point of reference for the Production Foreman and Team Leaders.
  • Be available for all Stock Checks.
  • Communicate with suppliers.
  • Input data into SAGE (Training will be provided)
  • Updating Excel Spreadsheets.
  • Booking goods in.
  • Progress chasing

Skills Required

  • Ability to work under pressure, with strict timescales, abnormal situations and have the ability to think “outside the box”.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
  • Competent PC skills.
  • Working knowledge of Sage Line 200 desirable.
  • Capacity to manage and co-ordinate multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Good time keeping is expected at all times, and strong numeracy skills will be advantageous.
  • You will need to be able to work on your own and as part of a team.

Hours: Mon – Thurs – 08:30 – 17:00, Fri – 08:30 – 16:30 (39.5 hours - 30 minute lunch)
