Job description
Cherwell District Council are committed to working collaboratively to resettle Refugees and support Homes for Ukraine. We are seeking applications to join our Resettlement Team and support the needs of individuals across various Home Office schemes. The job will entail direct work with families and individuals to empower them to become self-sufficient in our area, whilst working alongside our Resettlement Officers to deliver tailored support plans or one-off pieces of support work.
The Person
We are seeking to find individuals with a background in supporting vulnerable families and individuals. We need support workers that understand the complexities of accessing services and working towards building a new life within Cherwell and the UK when English is not your first language. They will have a good awareness of working in a trauma informed way alongside complex families, signposting to essential support services and thrive on working in a reactive environment. Positive outcomes are both fundamental and essential. Teamwork is central so not only can they work independently in the community but come together and work as a team.
The Benefits
The Council is an equal opportunities employer. We offer agile working, which means we don’t have a rigid work location. Our staff work from home and in the office to suit the business need. Other benefits include:
- A generous annual leave entitlement
- Opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme
- Cycle to work scheme
- Incremental pay award (awarded annually in April after one years’ service)
