Dakota Hotel based in Leeds City Centre are seeking an organised and enthusiastic individual in the role of a Hotel Reservations Agent.
CONTRACT AND PAY RATE
The gross annual salary is £23,000 plus an annual incentive bonus to earn up to £1,000.
The role carries a permanent contract of a minimum of 40 hours per week and typical shifts will be vary Monday – Sunday, generally 9:00-17:30.
PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Be a key part of the Reservations function within the hotel, working closely with Reception and Events on reservations, billing, and systems use.
- In the absence of the Reservations Supervisor, attend the weekly Operations Meeting.
- Be proactive in driving improvement, always considering ways to implement change to improve the guest experience and making the reservations process more seamless.
- Deliver fantastic guest service via telephone-based and email communication, securing bedroom and table bookings for guests who contact to enquire. Be knowledgeable about our current special packages and deliver training to the reservations, events and front of house team where required.
- To be fully proficient in all aspects of reservations, maintaining a strong handle on any open billing account, and a super-user on our property management system.
- Be the Guest Relations connection and ensure pac calls are completed with seven, three and one day checks, this will be the opportunity to upsell our room types and packages.

The successful applicant will have/be:
The successful applicant must demonstrate:
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a hotel Reservationist [required].
- Commercially minded individual with strong sales skills.
- Be fully computer literate and a fast learner of systems. Previous experience of using a property management system (PMS) is required, and experience of ResLynx or Shiji is favoured.
- Strong administration skills with the ability to work at pace and prioritise.
- A desire to deliver the highest levels of service, using effective vocabulary and upselling techniques to secure revenue.
- An enthusiastic individual who will promote our culture of positivity.
- Be task oriented with a great pride for the work they do and attention to detail.
- Successful candidates must demonstrate having researched our brand and a genuine desire to be part of our team.
- Be able to be physically active in your role, standing for much of your shift and working at pace.
