Murray McIntosh is delighted to be working with an educational charity based in the City of London whose purpose is to advance legal certainty in the wholesale financial markets.
Their team are looking to bring on a new researcher. The successful candidate will have strong analytical, communication and personal skills, be comfortable with technology and, most of all, a learning mindset.
A degree in law or finance is ideal along some experience of working in a legal/financial services related organisation would be helpful, along with research skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
The organisation is expected to produce publications, seminars and other materials to the highest standards, and do this by strong teamwork and collaboration with the highest attention to detail.
Tasks for this role include:
Researching and circulating a bi-weekly update on recent developments which alerts the team to legislative updates including consultation deadlines-
Managing some of the scoping forums, including
- Working with the secretarial assistant to diarise meetings and track attendance
- Monitoring the news for possible topics for discussion
- Sourcing chairs and speakers
- Processing any new projects proposed in the meeting for consideration by the CEO and Committee

Working on research projects which may involve
- Any preliminary research and scoping
- Convening, attending and minuting working group meetings
- Helping to draft FMLC paper(s) and/or letter(s)
- Ensuring that paper(s) and/or letter(s) are sent to relevant recipients and published on the FMLC website
- Participating in some patron relationship calls on a bimonthly basis
The organisation are also looking to modernise the way it produces and communicates. A candidate with an interest in the use of technology and media (such as video, podcasts, interactive publications, social media) could also carve out a role helping the organisation with that modernisation.
