The fast-growing, award winning digital media production company Makematic is looking for an experienced researcher and fact checker to work on script content. You would be part of a growing team working on History Essentials, a series of 500 films on American History with the aim of creating content for the U.S curriculum at all grade levels, from Kindergarten to High School.
A love of history and factual content is a must; academic knowledge of American history and civics would be a bonus.
Working as part of a team, you will join our Belfast office, though remote work is possible. This is a long-term contract position based in Northern Ireland for the next 18 months to 2 years.
Essential:
- Prior Understanding / Passion for U.S. History.
- Attention to Detail
- Able to work in a team & independently.
- Good MS Office skills, especially comfortable with spreadsheets.
- Political and bias neutrality
- Strong comprehension & grammar skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines across multiple projects simultaneously
- Expert level experience with Google Docs & Sheets, or Word & Excel.
Preferable:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in History/US History
- Communicative with an understanding of creative writing.
- Previous experience fact-checking educational content.
- Belfast/Northern Ireland-based.
