The Role
We are looking for two Embedded Researchers to support applied research and make a difference to changing the research culture in the City of Doncaster Council from an optional extra to part of core ways of working.
City of Doncaster Council along with partners at Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield, have been successful in a bid to host a National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Health Determinant Research Collaboration (HDRC). HDRC Doncaster represents significant investment to enable the Council to become more research active and embed a culture of evidence-based decision making. This new collaboration will help develop research capacity and capability through collaborations with the academic sector and other stakeholders to undertake research to address the wider determinants of health and health inequalities.
The post holders will be based at the Civic Offices in Doncaster, learning and understanding the culture in the City of Doncaster Council and will spend time within the Doncaster HDRC and the Physical Activity, Wellness and Public Health research group at Sheffield Hallam University. We are looking to attract candidates with a broad range of experience of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
