Job description

The role

We are seeking to recruit a research technician with expertise in bacteriology laboratory work to work within a research consortium alongside veterinary researchers working together to understand the factors that influence the prevalence of antibacterial resistant (ABR) Escherichia coli in various farming systems in Wales.

What will you be doing?

You will administer the distribution of sample collection materials, the receipt of samples collected from environments in and around farms, and will undertake primary processing of these samples. You will plate these processed samples to recover resistant E. coli and record the results.

You should apply if

You will have a degree in microbiology or a related discipline, with knowledge of good laboratory practice in the field of bacteriology and good communication skills. Specific methodological training can be provided if necessary.
