Job description
The role
Based in the Diabetes and Metabolism Group, within Learning and Research at Southmead Hospital, you will join a vibrant team involved in a variety of research. Primarily engaged in a programme of studies into the causes, prediction and ultimate prevention of type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes and other autoimmune diseases, the group is also involved in inflammatory, respiratory and COVID-19 related studies.
What will you be doing?
You will be engaged in sample processing, measurement of antibodies (using unique, specialised techniques), and genetic techniques, while assisting with other ongoing projects and research aims.
You should apply if
- You have good general laboratory experience however, full training in the necessary techniques will be given.
- You have excellent organisational skills, with the ability to deal with and prioritise a range of ongoing tasks at the same time, and to be able to cope under pressure.
- You have proven experience of completing tasks to a high level of accuracy, with attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
