The role
The Research & Strategy Lead is a senior role at Rehab, responsible for leading a team in planning and conducting research and developing strategies for clients such as Nike, Facebook, and Amazon. This role involves overseeing the development of strategy, directing research methods and practices, and having the ability to lead projects and work on hands-on deliverables. The ideal candidate should be an excellent researcher, have analytical skills, good communication abilities, and a passion for people, brands, strategy, innovation, creativity, and emerging tech. This role reports to the Creative Director.
This role combines research and strategy responsibilities as follows:
Research: Direct and oversee the development and refinement of research methods and practices across the strategy team, to build up clear base information to provide background and use for developing strategy at client, project and concept levels.
Strategy: Oversee the development of strategy for our clients and ensure a high level of strategic thinking and cohesion runs through each part of the work from project inception to delivery.
The responsibilities
Research
- Oversee all research work.
- Conducting market and user research to gain a deep understanding of new audiences and their needs.
- Analyzing industry trends and emerging technologies (incl. Web3 and AI) to identify new opportunities for innovation.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as design, and technology, to ensure that research informs and guides innovation efforts.
- Developing and implementing research methodologies and processes to gather and analyze data.
- Presenting research findings and insights to internal and external stakeholders.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest industry developments and methodologies in digital innovation research.
- Providing support for the development of new digital products and services by contributing to ideation and prototyping efforts.
- Participating in the design and execution of user testing and other forms of user research.
- Planning, organizing and conducting deep-dives (hackweeks/hackathons).
Strategy
- Oversee the research & strategy team and provide strategic expertise to cross-discipline project teams, providing clear, confident, and inspiring leadership in order to define and express the core strategy for branding challenges.
- To keep abreast of market trends specifically relating to Rehabs pillars and client verticals.
- Be a close advisor to clients and demonstrate expert sector knowledge.
- Create proposals, and support project programme definition.
- Lead collaboration across internal and client teams.
- Ensure profitability of projects by effectively scoping strategic deliverables and work streams within project constraints.
Team leading
- Develop, implement and refine approaches to research, strategy building and measurement.
- Line management of the strategy team
- Manage and grow a high performing team.
- Mentoring and coaching team members, providing feedback and performance evaluations, and contributing to their professional development.
- Keeping abreast of the latest changes and opportunities within the industry, to be able to advise and incorporate where they may apply.
