We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Research Scientist based at our Cowick Hall site. The purpose of this role is to develop new or improved products to meet our sustainability and biodegradability targets. You will work with the different businesses within Croda, including Personal Care, Home Care and Crop Care, to understand their needs and deliver novel products that meet their performance requirements. This will involve working within a broad technical and commercial community and taking chemistry from concept to commercialisation. You will use your excellent knowledge of organic chemistry to develop varied product within core platforms.

Essentials:
Educated to at least degree level or equivalent in chemistry or related subject, with excellent knowledge of organic chemistry- Practical laboratory experience in the area of organic synthesis; either from a previous role or from an industrial placement
- Able to develop innovative and creative solutions to problems and adapt to changing project requirements
- You will be an effective communicator, capable of building effective working relationships and working well as part of a team
Desirables:
Educated PhD level or equivalent in chemistry- Previous experience working in an industrial laboratory environment
- Good understanding of natural materials and their chemistry
- Excellent project management, time planning and organisation skills
- An understanding of sustainable chemistry and biodegradation
