About the role
Research excellence is at the heart of Staffordshire University, central to our ‘Catalyst for Change’ strategic plan in which we commit to increasing the quality and quantity of our research to deliver a positive impact for broader society. Our Research, Innovation and Impact Services department in Staffordshire University is dedicated to supporting university staff to deliver high quality research that makes a difference to people and places.
We have a vacancy for a Research Policy and Governance Manager. This vital role provides expertise to support the University in the design, development and implementation of its research strategy through the formulation and implementation of research policies and associated governance activities.
We are seeking an individual to bring experience of academic research management and high-level Committee support to work with senior research leaders and professional support staff to shape our research policies and practices. An understanding of national and international research policies and frameworks is essential, with experience of supporting research ethics and REF processes. To be successful in this role strong analytical skills are also required, to provide data and insights on our research performance management.
Our Stoke-on-Trent campus is a few minutes’ walk from the train station, which is about 45 minutes from Birmingham and 40 minutes from Manchester.
