Planning and Organisation of projects and developments Contribute to the strategic planning of disease specific projects anddevelopments, identifying interdependencies across projects/functions,potential impacts on wider organisation, resource requirements and buildingin contingency and advising on necessary adjustments. Contribute to the development of performance and governance strategies andsupport the development and implementation of improvement programmes, inaccordance with local and divisional priorities Contribute, in consultation with the Research Nurse Team Leader andPrincipal Investigators, to the development and achievement of short, mediumand long term business plans and objectives and in particular that WTEcapacitance within the disease specific team will meet projected workloads. Organise and schedule standing research meetings, ensuring appropriateaccommodation, attendance and distribution of papers, and that an agenda isagreed and meetings minuted. Coordinate, manage and monitor work flow within disease specific group incollaboration with clinical leads In collaboration with Research Nurse Team Leader, ensure feasibilitycompletion targets are met to maximise trial awardsPolicy and Service Development Contribute to the review of existing services to promote development of thedisease specific services.

Where appropriate develop operational procedures in collaboration with thequality assurance leads. Support the directorate operational leads in service development plans toalign with national and local strategic priorities.Business Planning and Financial Management Support the development and production of business plans forservices/projects as required Analyse and interpret complex data in order to deliver well-presentedinformationResearch Manager- Band 7 March 2023 Support Research Nurse Team Leader, clinical leads and business planningto ensure costing and billing targets are met to maximise income. Support the use of service line reporting to inform financial management Liaise with relevant stakeholders in the development of grant applicationsLine Management and Leadership Direct line management responsibility for non-clinical staff within diseasespecific groups including administrative workload allocation Provide leadership within disease specific research group and act as a role model and resource for all team members Responsible for recruitment, retention, disciplinary and grievance, and allstaffing management for administration team issues in accordance withrelevant Trust policies Contribute to the delivery of training programmes Work collaboratively to identify and meet the learning needs of teammembers Maintain own and professional development and identify learning needs andopportunities Participate in the monitoring of compliance with all relevant standardsResearch Performance (Metrics) Management Working collaboratively to ensure that all relevant internal and externalstakeholders are provided with high-quality, timely, well-presented andrelevant data reports supporting stakeholders in understanding operationalefficiency, performance against national and local targets, activity andfinancial performance, and service size, configuration and potential forgrowth. Establish working practices to ensure team research performance data isaccurately collated and maintained, including externally facing informatione.g.

web pages Contribute to the development and maintenance of the infrastructure tomeasure and monitor performance within the research team to ensure thatperformance is in line with key performance indicatorsResearch Manager- Band 7 March 2023 In collaboration with key stakeholders, optimise working practices to maintainand continuously improve efficiencies within the research team, the R&Idivision and across the Trust.Communications promotion and marketing Communicate complex research information in written and oral format tointernal and external parties accountable for the promotional/marketing andcommunication strategy for the Research division Work, liaise and communicate with colleagues across the Trust, includingservice support areas to improve the delivery and quality of research andresearch services Ensure research outputs are communicated appropriately, where appropriateattend meetings to present information. Represent the team or research division at local or national conferences andworkshops, leading on presentations as required.
