Job description
Research Support Team, UoN Libraries
Are you interested in supporting open access, research data management and advanced literature reviews? We are pleased to offer two exciting opportunities to join a team which supports research students and staff as they plan, undertake, publish, and share their research.
We know that having colleagues from a wide range of groups and backgrounds is key to a good supportive workplace and even better services. We are particularly keen to receive applications from groups who are currently underrepresented in libraries in the UK, such as people from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic backgrounds.
You will be part of a friendly and welcoming Library Research Support Team which delivers services across the research lifecycle. We promote best practice in open research, facilitate publication and reuse of research outputs, and support discovery, access to and management of research literature and data. You will work closely with colleagues across UoN Libraries teams and in partnership with our Professional Service colleagues in departments such as Research and Innovation.
You will have a good understanding of the information needs of researchers and experience of working with them to promote and support at least one of the following: open access to publications; open data; advanced literature searching. Both team members will contribute to our open access service, with one focusing on supporting research data management and the other on literature and systematic reviews. You will contribute to our inclusive training and engagement programme and answer enquiries from researchers on all these topics and more, supported by colleagues as you build knowledge and expertise.
There are 2 permanent positions available. Hours are full time (36.25 hours per week). Your base will be the George Green Library on University Park, but you may work across our different campuses. We currently have a hybrid working arrangement where you will be expected to spend a minimum of two days on campus. Job share arrangements may be considered.
We are committed to providing a competitive employment package that supports your well-being and helps you to reach your full potential. You will have access to a number of benefits, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a generous holiday allowance and pension scheme.
Don’t meet every single requirement? Within UoN Libraries we are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Katie Fraser, email [email protected]. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
