Meta AI is seeking Research Interns to join our AI Research for Monetization teams to work on innovative problems that would power the next generation product and platforms at scale. The problems range from various research domains and require applying cutting-edge algorithms to help us understand our content and users better. Research Intern, AI Applied Computer Vision Research (PhD) (London) Responsibilities:
- Develop novel state-of-the-art vision algorithms and corresponding systems, leveraging various deep learning techniques, particularly deep generative models
- Contribute to research that can eventually be applied to Meta product and run on billions of media items every day
- Based on the project, help analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of corresponding deployed algorithms
- Collaborate with team members, all the way from prototyping in a notebook to deploying at scale
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Prior experience with deep learning frameworks
- Research and/or work experience in machine learning, deep learning, and/or computer vision
- Experience in Python
Preferred Qualifications:
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship
- Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches
- Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
- Proven track record of achieving results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at workshops or top AI conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, SIGGRAPH or similar
- Ability to communicate complex research in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
- A strong interest in theoretical and empirical research and for answering hard questions with research
- Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
- Ability to stay in touch with the literature of a particular domain and has the ability to reproduce results if needed
