The Research & Insight Executive helps people with sight loss to live the life they choose by using research and data to better understand the needs of people with vision impairment and sight loss.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of independently carrying our primary research, either with a research agency or as part of an in-house team, and be passionate about using their skills and experience to support Guide Dogs.
This role will provide the customer insight we need to guide our strategy and develop person-centred services and marketing plans to meet those needs.

For this role you’ll be working 35 hours per week, worked 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. We are looking for you to attend the office at least 2 days per week, the remainder of your week may be spent working from home.

Candidate profile
To be able to fulfil this role, the skills and experience we are looking for in a potential candidate include;
Essential
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent (QCF level 6 / SQCF levels 9-10).
- While not essential for this position, please share in your application if you have had any training from MRS, SRA or similar research institution.
- Demonstrable experience in a customer insight and research role, either with an agency or in a client-side insight team.
- Experience managing external research agencies within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Strong understanding of research methodologies and research design best practice, and how to apply these when scoping & designing new projects.
- Proven ability of time-management – managing workload, working to deadlines and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Proactive attitude and ability to work independently on projects when needed.
Desirable
- Awareness of accessibility needs to ensure research is accessible to those with vision impairment.
- Experience of working in the non-profit sector, or a strong desire to develop in this area.
